Johanna Claerhout (b. 1998) is a painter based between Paris and Brussels. Self-taught and trained as an art historian, she draws inspiration from the Old Masters, combining bold colour, dramatic light and expressive composition. In her floral paintings, handpicked flowers become powerful portraits that challenge traditional ideas of femininity and beauty. The shadows they cast are more than reflections: distorted, expressive or intensified, they take on a presence and character of their own. Through theatrical settings, she explores the relationship between nature, emotion and imagination. Her work celebrates the strength, individuality and beauty found in nature.

Théâtre des Fleurs brings together around ten new works, including a series of large-scale chiaroscuro oil paintings presented in a theatrical scenography. It will be a beautiful combination of colourful floral abundance and darker intimacy.
